Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 6284 - 1954

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 6284 "semi-bubble back" will be a staple in any vintage Rolex collection. This 34mm unpolished original case shows some honest use, but it presents itself wonderfully. The  original "waffle dial" has a wonderful creamy patina to it which is a very unique and desirable feature of this beautiful watch. The gilt markers and hands provide a stunning contrast to the rest of the colors on this watch. The slender second hand still retains its original bluing which you will catch a glimpse of in the light on occasion. The radium lumes are still in tact as well. This watch really has the perfect mid-century patina!

This watch is also wearing its original crystal, although the scratches were polished out of the crystal for clarity sake. There is one small corner crack and another blemish which are shown in pictures, but they don't take away from visibility of the dial or overall beauty of the watch. As a matter of fact, I think those blemishes help add to the character!

This watch is fastened to an NOS mint condition Speidel leather band from the 1950's/60's

This watch is working properly although it has not been tested for accuracy. The rotor functions and winds the watch, although it does make a little noise. Most people don't mind this on a vintage automatic watch, but it is worth mentioning. 

Overall, this Ref. 6284 Oyster Perpetual is a wonderful survivor that speaks for itself - This watch has aged gracefully into a form that can't be duplicated... and it feels great on the wrist!
