1917 Harley Davidson Twin Engine

Here is a great start to a 1917 Harley Davidson project. This 1000cc twin engine has some really good bones too it. Look closely at the pictures for details

*The cylinder top plugs have been removed so they are no longer included*

Pro’s: 

- matching cases!

- the cases are very solid and not oxidized like they sometimes get to be

- standard bore cylinders at 3.310”

- no stripped threads as far as I can see

- the breather casting area is not cracked! 

Con’s:

-There is one crack visible on the inside of the left case shown in pictures.

- there is a repair to the magneto mount flange

- the cylinders are rusty on the inside. However, since they are standard bore they have plenty of room to clean up! 

- one damaged engine mount tab. Easy repair. 

- some chipped cylinder fins, thankfully not too many
